About
Us: An Independent Guide to Health Screening in Bali
MedicalCheckupBali is an independent, physician-reviewed
comparison guide that helps international visitors and expats compare
Bali’s medical check-up clinics and hospitals — on accreditation,
English-language care, price and turnaround — and choose the right one
with confidence. We are not a clinic. We do not own or operate
any facility, we do not sell check-up packages, and we take no payment
from patients or providers for placement. Our only product is honest,
plain-English comparison.
This page explains who writes the site, how we keep it independent,
and how we make money without compromising that independence. To see the
work, start at the homepage, the clinic directory or the ranked best-of guide. To act, get free concierge help.
Medical disclaimer: This guide is for information
only and is not medical advice. Always consult a licensed physician.
MedicalCheckupBali is independent and does not own or operate any
clinic.
Why This Site Exists
Bali has become a genuine health-screening destination. Visitors,
long-stay expats and digital nomads can get a thorough check-up here for
a fraction of what it costs in Singapore, Australia or the United
States. But the experience of choosing a provider is confusing:
prices aren’t published clearly, accreditation is hard to verify from
abroad, and it’s rarely obvious whether the doctor will speak fluent
English.
I built this site after watching too many foreign patients make
rushed, expensive decisions because no one had laid out the facts
neutrally. The aim is simple — be the independent guide I wished those
patients had: compare every option fairly, explain the tests in plain
English, publish realistic prices, show people how to verify safety, and
then hand the decided reader to a trusted concierge to handle the
booking.
Meet the Editor
Dr.
Anita Wijaya, MD, MPH — Medical Advisor & Health-Screening
Editor
Dr. Anita Wijaya is a Bali-based physician who spent over a decade
coordinating health screenings for international patients and
expatriates across Denpasar, Sanur and Nusa Dua. She holds an MD
from Universitas Udayana in Bali and an MPH in Travel
& Preventive Medicine from the University of Sydney, and is
a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine
(ISTM).
After watching foreign visitors struggle to compare clinics, prices
and accreditation, she founded MedicalCheckupBali.com as an independent,
plain-English guide. She personally reviews every clinic profile,
verifies accreditation and English-language capability, and updates
pricing each quarter. She does not own or operate any clinic — her only
goal is to help you choose the right check-up provider in Bali with
confidence.
Every page and post on this site carries her byline and is reviewed
against the standards below.
Our Editorial Standards
We hold ourselves to a published set of rules so you can trust what
you read:
- Independence. No facility can pay for a higher
ranking, a better review, or a directory placement. Rankings reflect our
assessment, full stop. - Transparency. We state our scoring methodology
openly on the best-of page,
and we tell you when a figure is an estimate rather than a confirmed
quote. - Currency. Pricing is reviewed quarterly and every
page carries a “last reviewed” date. Health information and
accreditation get re-checked on the same cycle. - Sourcing. Medical claims are hedged and sourced to
reputable authorities — the World Health Organization, the International
Society of Travel Medicine, official hospital information pages, and
Indonesian Ministry of Health / KEK Sanur publications. - Humility. Where we can’t independently verify
something, we say so rather than imply certainty. We compare and
recommend; we never claim to be a clinic or to replace your doctor.
How We Make Money (and How We
Don’t)
Transparency about funding is part of trust. We do
not take payment from patients, and we do
not accept payment from facilities for placement or
favourable coverage. Instead, when a reader has decided on a provider
and wants help booking, we hand them to our partner, JHG Medical
Concierge. If that concierge service successfully arranges a
booking, we may receive a referral fee from the concierge operation —
never from the clinic, and never tied to which facility you choose.
That structure matters: because our referral relationship is with the
concierge and not the clinics, we have no incentive to steer you toward
one hospital over another. We’re paid for helping you act on
your decision, not for influencing it.
What We Cover — and What We
Don’t
We occupy one clear lane: decision-stage comparison.
We compare, rank, rate and help you choose a check-up provider, and we
explain the tests and prices behind that choice. We deliberately do
not sell check-up packages, run our own clinic, or
position ourselves as a treatment or preventive-program provider — there
are other specialist services for those needs, and conflating them would
muddy our independence. Our verbs are compare, choose, rank, rate and
direct.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is MedicalCheckupBali a
clinic?
No. We are an independent comparison guide. We don’t own, operate or
represent any clinic or hospital, and we don’t sell check-up
packages.
Who writes
MedicalCheckupBali?
Every page is written and reviewed by Dr. Anita Wijaya, MD, MPH — a
Bali-based physician with 12 years in international-patient care and a
member of the ISTM. See her bio above.
How do you stay independent?
No facility can pay for placement or a better ranking. Our only
revenue is a possible referral fee from our concierge partner — not from
clinics — so we have no incentive to favour any particular provider.
How current is your
information?
Pricing and accreditation are reviewed quarterly, and every page
shows a “last reviewed” date. Where a figure is an estimate, we say
so.
Can you help me book a
check-up?
We don’t book directly, but our partner JHG Medical Concierge
arranges the appointment, interpreter and transfers for the facility you
choose, at no cost. Send your
details.
